Veronica spends a lot of her free time working with other non-profit recovery and religious organizations in the community. At the Mission Oaks nursing home, education has always been a top priority. It is important to us that you and your family have the best knowledge available. Our staff can provide guidance in many situations, especially regarding Medicare and Medicaid, healthy senior aging and the admissions process. We also understand that therapy is important to a body’s health. Unlike others who contract their therapists, Mission Oaks has an in-house therapy team.
She has dedicated more than two decades specializing in assisting unhoused adults with chemical use disorders and mental health impairments. Her focus is on offering resources and support as they’re on their journey of sobriety, mental and physical health. She believes these are keys to helping discover what sober living is. In 2012, she was offered a position as the Lead Advocate. Prior to her working at Missions Inc. her career began with her working as a Case Manager for the Shell’s Seeker Program at Salvation Army Harbor Lights Multiservice Center. In 2000 she worked at Avivo, formerly Spectrum Community Mental Health as an Outreach Specialist.

We are governed by a 15-member Board of Directors, whose wide range of expertise guides and supports the organization. Our management team provides leadership from a wealth of experience in our primary service areas. Our staff of nearly 200 full-time and part-time employees provides services with respect and compassion, as advocates for the people we serve. We are assisted by several hundred volunteers, whose invaluable contributions range from a special one-day event for the children at our battered women shelter to working every day alongside staff providing essential services.

His favorite movie is The Color Purple and his favorite reading material is Sports Illustrated. Programs in 1979 as a Chemical Dependency Technician at Mission Detox Center. In 2008, Dan was promoted to his current position of Program Director at Mission Lodge. Dan provides oversight over the daily operations of the program, including budget management, personnel supervision, and program development. Dan studied at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul and the University of Minnesota; he held his LADC until 2016. Dan's most memorable movie is Apocalypse Now, the 1979 version.

Our main campus is located on the north shore of Medicine Lake in Plymouth, MN, offering a natural environment in which to pause, heal and gain strength for a new beginning. The facility was at one point housed in the Union City Mission Chapel before it was torn down in 1995 and patients were moved to new facility. Mission Nursing Home offers an indoor smoking area for cigarettes only.
The first private chemical dependency treatment program in Minnesota was started by the organization in 1948, an outgrowth of the emerging Alcoholics Anonymous movement. During this time, Missions Inc. became a key participant in the development of the ‘Minnesota Model’ for chemical dependency treatment. In the 1960s Missions Inc. discontinued its operations in Minneapolis.
One way we provide stability is through staff longevity and our Director of Nurses has been with the building for more than 15 years. Our skilled care team continually seeks ways to improve the quality of care we offer our residents. Her go-to book is Pema Chödrön’s Start Where You Are.
Mr. Ronningen also currently works at Modern Foundation. Tammie Fallon is the current First Vice-Chair of the Missions Inc. Programs Board of Directors, serving on the Finance, Development and Building/Planning committees. Stacey Billy is the current Chair of the Missions Inc. Programs Board of Directors, serving on Finance, Development, DEI/Nominations and Building/Planning committees.
Michelle studied Human Services Administration at Metropolitan State University. Her favorite movie is Five Heart Beats and her favorite book is anything by John Sanford. Other pioneering programs followed, including the state’s first skilled-care nursing facility for men in 1964, and the first detoxification center in 1978. In the early 1980s Missions Inc. initiated services for battered women and their children in Northwest Hennepin County, and in 2001, began the first transitional housing program for women in recovery in Ramsey County. Today, Missions Inc. continues to evolve to meet many of the most urgent, yet often unacknowledged, social service needs.
